Creative and Charmed Gift Card Holders

Hello! The countdown is definitely on at my house - 4 more days until Christmas! I cannot believe it!!! My little guy is filled with anticipation and excitement as we prepare to celebrate our Savior's birth! Ok, I admit it, he is also looking forward to a visit from the jolly guy in red! :o)

My little guy likes to get gifts but
he loves to give gifts - he has such a big heart and I am thankful for that. He wanted to get his teacher, the principal, the school secretary and his music teacher something for Christmas. After much discussion we settled on gift cards. I told him that since they are all girls and that I had the pleasure of using the beautiful December Kit of the Month - Nouveaux Vintage that I would create some gift card holders for these special women in his school family. Yippee, time to play with my Expression!!!

I created the following 4 different gift card to holders for the previously mentioned ladies and I still have a lot of product left over to continue creating! Order your kit today if you didn't order it yet - you won't be disappointed with all of the creative goodness in this kit!
From left to right:

The first is a little purse that I decorated using a Vintage Poppy with Pearl Brad - VINTAGE BROWN, some Soft Spoken Christmas stickers from my stash and for the purse strap I used Velvet Ric Rac - BROWN from the kit.
The next gift card holder is one that I have been wanting to try to create for a while now and just purchased a perforation blade for my cutter! I tried to make one of the fun zip boxes that you can buy at the card store - they are too fun! I used my expression to cut out a box and used the perforation blade to create the tear off top. I decorated the box using some stickers from my stash, a Vintage Poppy with Pearl Brad - IVORY (I replaced the pearl brad with a Vintage Jewel - LIGHT GREEN) and put a Vintage Jewel on the pull tab. I will have to let you know how it goes after Christmas. Come back to my blog after Christmas for the results!
The last two gift card holders are more of your basic holders but turned out very nice with the products from the kit.I placed some more stickers from my stash and a Vintage Poppy with Pearl Brad - VINTAGE BROWN (I replaced the center with a Gradient Gem Sticker - GREEN and placed one on the flap too - these are not included in the kit) on the white holder on and some stickers and a Vintage Poppy with Pearl Brad - IVORY on the red holder.

Thanks for looking at my December projects!

Wishing you and the ones you love a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Santa Prep!

Hi! Sandra here to present my November project. I was thrilled when I opened my package of Creative Charms goodies this month and yes, I let out a "woohoo" when I saw the November Kit of the Month - Holiday Wishes! This is a great kit full of fun and festive products that you will want for your projects!
OK, so I know that it is not even Thanksgiving yet but I just could not wait to use some of the great embellishments from the Holiday Wishes Kit to create this two page Santa prep layout.
Every Christmas eve we come home from church, get into our cozy Christmas jammies and prepare for the jolly guy's arrival. My son tosses out magic reindeer food on our front lawn before heading inside to plate some cookies and pour some milk for Santa. My husband lights up the Christmas tree and I'm in charge of cutting up an apple for the jolly guy's nine furry buddies! We then brush our teeth, snuggle into bed, and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas". I love our Christmas Eve traditions! On the left page I used my Gypsy and Expression combo to cut out the letters for the title Santa Prep. I used the Gypsy font for the word Santa and Lyrical Letters for the word prep. Of course I had to bling up Santa with some green gradient gems.I used the green green polka dot ribbon across the top of the 2 pages. I know what you are thinking - how could you use the ribbon across two 12 inch pages when it is only 18 inches long? Well, I used one the adorable Winter Chipboard stickers at the top of the page and cut the ribbon and separated it on both sides of the chipboard sticker. (There is no ribbon behind the chipboard sticker, shh, don't tell.) The chipboard sticker had Happy Holidays on it but I covered it up with the Be Merry Christmas Twinkle sticker to go with the green Merry pattern paper I used for this layout.
I added two cute Christmas Vintage Metal frames to finish the left page.

The right page

On the right page I used a Christmas Vintage Metal frame at the intersection of the green and red polka dot ribbons and two of the Winter Chipboard stickers (that I added a few gradient gems to) above the 8X8 photo.I finished this page with a Christmas Eve rub on and of course some more bling!
I love this kit! I did this layout and I still have a lot of goodies left to create more projects. I see Christmas gift card holders for my son's teacher, principal and school secretary in the not too distant future. Check out my blog, Scrappin' Mom of 1, in a week or so to see what else I create using this great Holiday Wishes kit!

Thanks and have a great day! :o)

Halloween Day is not Far Away!

Wow! I cannot believe that the month of October is almost over and that Halloween is just 5 days away! This is the last week to order the Kit of the Month and the two Deals of the Month!

I have had a lot of fun working with the O
ctober Kit of the Month-Vintage Halloween: earlier this month I created a two page layout using the kit of the month and today I am back with my second October project and again I turned to my kit to create a paper bag mini album and two gift card holders! There is so much product in this kit for such a fantastic price of $14.99! If you have not yet ordered it, don't delay, order it today!!!

I have a wonderful Aunt who lives in Flori
da that we don't get to see that often. She just adores my little guy so I like to keep her updated with photos because he is growing up so fast! I made a mini album using one brown paper bag folded in half and I have prepared it so that it is ready for pictures from this weekend and then ready to send to her. I also made two Halloween gift card holders for my niece and nephew who are now young adults. I think that they will like a gift card for food, fuel or music with their candy!

I love to make paper bag mini albums. It
is great way to share photos from a holiday or event with friends and family! For all of the pages I used my expression and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge to cut five 4.75 squares.

For the cover: I used the Designer's Calendar cartridge to cut Halloween 2010 and the Simply Sweet cartridge to cut the green background for the word Halloween. I tied Black Vintage Velvet Ric Rac and Black Fancy Polka Dot ribbons, both from the kit to bind the mini album. I then added one of the adorable Halloween Vintage Frames that says Boo to You from the kit and of course I had to get the Gradient Gem Stickers-Black from the kit and some Gradient Gem Stickers-Amber from my stash to add some bling!

Inside the mini album I used three Halloween Twinkle Stickers from the kit on the left page just above the photo mat. I just love these fun and sparkly stickers! On the right page I once again reached for the Gradient Gem Stickers-Black to add to the left of the costume sticker and to the little pumpkin sticker that was plain until I gave him black bling eyes and drew on a nose and a mouth.

the left page:the right page:
But wait, this is not the last page! When I folded the bag I left the open end to the back so that I could add a pull out page at the end. I attached the pull out page to the inside of the bag using a piece of Black Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon so that it is easy to pull out the page and slide the page back in without falling completely out of the bag. I created a pull tab by simply cutting a small rectangle from black cardstock, scoring it down the center so that it could be easily folded, folded it along the scored line, used a corner rounder on the corners of the tab and adhered it to my pull out page. I used some Halloween stickers and some Gradient Gem Stickers-Black to finish the pull out page.

the pull out page:
Here are the gift card holders that I made for my niece and nephew:

The first one I made a little more masculine for my nephew using a Halloween Vintage Frame that says Ghost to Ghost from my kit, a Happy Halloween sticker that I had, and a round epoxy bat sticker that I had with a Vintage-MakeItYour-SelfAdhesive-Metal-Frames.

The second gift card holder I made more feminine for my niece using a Black Vintage Velvet Poppy (pearl center brad removed) and some black Vintage Velvet Ric Rac ribbon from the kit, three Pure Blossoms-Amber from my stash and three little Gradient Gems Stickers-Black in the center of each Pure Blossom.

There really is a lot of product in this kit! Check out this kit and all of the great products at creativecharms.com

Thanks and make it a great day! :o)

Sparkle and Bling - It's Almost Halloween!

Hi! It's Sandra here with my 1st of two projects for the new month of October. (My other post will be later this month.) I love the month of October: the air is cooler, the leaves are turning to those beautiful autumn hues, Halloween is approaching and I get to celebrate the birth of my favorite kid in the whole wide world! A very exciting thing has already happened in October - my Creative Charms order arrived and it was full of wonderful and fun products!

I decided to create a Halloween layout using these fantastic new products!!!

The left page:The right page:This layout was a lot of fun to create using all the the fun and whimsical Halloween Multi-Dimensional Twinkle Stickers,
the Vintage Halloween Self-Adhesive Metal Frames and I even created my own fun embellishment using the Vintage Make-It-Yours Self-Adhesive Metal Frames and a picture of my favorite kid in the whole wide world!

and of course I had to use some Gradient Gem Stickers - BLACK. I just love them!!!

Thanks for looking! Happy scrapping and make it a great day!

Epoxy and Felt and Gems, Oh My!

Hi! Wow - I am so excited!!! This is my very first Creative Charms project post on my new blog! I am thrilled and honored to be a member of a team of such talented designers!

I was so thrilled when I received my products that I made two projects!

The first I made for a dear friend who is expecting (a boy) using some of the products in the September Deal of the Month and what a deal it is!

I used the It's a Boy Hand Stitched Felt Stickers, the It's a Boy Epoxy Stickers, the Blue & White Fancy Polka Dot Ribbon and some Gradient Gem Stickers - Blue. All of this and more are in the September Deal of the Month!

I am going to attach the tag to a gift for the new little guy in hopes that my friend will complete his birth information in the spaces provided on the tag and then use it in his scrapbook or baby book.

The other project I made is a Thanksgiving card.

I loved the Fancy Felt Flowers - Orange as soon as I saw them with their little wooden beaded centers and I knew that I wanted to use them to make an Autumn card. I also used some Gradient Gem Stickers - Amber and two light purple flowers from Spring Medley - Purple. I removed the yellow centers from the light purple flowers and replaced the centers with Gradient Jewels. I used my Cricut Expression to cut the light purple shape (Sweethearts cartridge) and the Give Thanks (Designer's Calendar).

I'll be back soon! Thanks and make it a great day!!! :o)
